Much said and done about the absolute requirement of the Original Document to apply for the re - registration of a birth in Lisbon Portugal. There are many cases which have been successful without submission of the Original Document. After some research one can register a birth even without the Original Document if you have an appointed person in Portugal who can go and explain to the Conservador the originality of the documents submited and the person whos birth has to be registered.
There are many such persons provided by these so called Agents for Portuguese Passports but till today I haven't seen anyone getting a straight answer. Are these agents taking us for a ride?
Why do we need these agents? We have the help from the Portuguese Consulate in Goa, but to get the actual fact we need someone in Portugal who will make inquires on your behalf or Call the Conservatoria Dos Registos directly.

My fathers process is stuck..we had submitted school certificate(not original but attested)in 2005. not got any reply till now..
I heared recently they have started accepting attested scholl certificates as well..
